Limestone is a natural product, hence there is a great variance in size, color, texture and thickness. The range of colors can go from shades of light brown / beige to dark brown, from an ash grey to a dark grey, from a light grey blue to a dark grey blue, from golden to a pale yellow. Each stone is unique in its appearance / range of colors as this is an inherent feature. When selecting limestone for a project, you will need to decide on the range of color (greys, blues, browns or a mixture) rather than a precise color. It should also be noted color availability varies as it depends on what is being quarried along with supply and demand. We suggest placing your order once selection is confirmed in this way you allow the quarry ample time to secure your desired range of color. Limestone over the past few years has become more popular whether used as exterior or interior flooring, fireplace surround, wall veneer, etc.
About Us
French Limestone Imports (FLI) is an importer of natural limestone quarried in France. The Company procures the stone directly from the quarry in accordance with to the purchaser’s specifications- drawings and/or templates. Since each order is special and custom to an individual project, the Company continuously interacts with the quarry to make certain that all questions, if any, are answered and dimensions per the purchaser’s supplied drawings / templates are clear.
Furthermore, FLI offers a complete “turn key” process to include loading the container at the quarry, shipping the container from the quarry to the Port of Charleston or any designated port, clearing customs and once cleared, having the container picked up at the port and transported to the desired destination. In summarizing, we truly believe that by offering this complete process from working with the quarry to having the finished limestone delivered to the desired destination is one of the most beneficial ways for us to service you, our customer.
